Position Overview

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be joining a close-knit and ambitious professional services team. The Technical Project Manager’s primary role will be to lead clients through the process of implementing Piano software. In that process, the Project Manager partners with other Piano staff to deliver an experience for the client that is second to none. We pride ourselves on this. A Project Manager may also be called upon to coordinate internal projects and other professional services engagements, strategy, and design services. No matter the project type, a Technical Project Manager is relied on to keep teams motivated, organized, on task, on time and delivering high-quality work.


What You’ll Do

  • Scope, understand and document the client’s needs, taking technical constraints into consideration.
  • Develop and manage project plans, understanding what needs to get done to achieve milestones and anticipating the impact of deviations from the plan.
  • Become a power user of Piano software.
  • Be passionate about getting our clients using our software expeditiously and effectively.
  • Work with clients to follow the steps required to implement Piano software and be chiefly responsible for making them happen by motivating both clients and internal colleagues to complete tasks.
  • Proactively evaluate gaps in methodology and implement recommended process improvements.
  • Understand project risk and have the ability to anticipate possible issues & delays during implementation before they arise.
  • Fully understanding the client's goals, technical stack, requirements.
  • Own the implementation but be the client conduit to resources within Piano that are required for advanced client needs, including data analysis and optimization.
  • Carry out different phases of project deliverable verification in order to ensure the correct implementation of our solutions.
  • Coordinate technical project expectations and all communication to key technical stakeholders at the appropriate levels (recurring meetings, key deliverable dates etc).

What You Have

  • Educated to degree level (minimum BA/BSc).
  • Intermediate knowledge of one or more of the following frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • It would be advantageous to also have knowledge of one or more of the following: Python, Java or PHP.
  • 1-2 years of relevant project management experience within a professional services organization will be hugely beneficial (e.g. consulting, advertising, etc.).
  • English is a must, one other language - French, German, Portuguese, Japanese is a bonus.
  • Clear and polished communicator in person and in writing.
  • Deep commitment to client satisfaction.
  • General understanding and knowledge of web technologies and related problem-solving tools for front end based web technologies.
  • Understanding of web security and/or data transfer protocols (API, XML, FTP) will be helpful.
  • Experience in other fields of digital business like SEO, AB-Testing, Social Media, Tag Management System, Adwords etc. would be much appreciated.
